First, an apology. The audio for these videos is not very good.
When filming in a large area such as the McGavick Center you traditionally plug your cameras right into the mixer board of the amplification system. If you do not do this then the audio sounds muffled with various echos. This is especially true then the speakers are in the ceiling – as in the McGavick Center. The amplification was plenty loud – too loud in fact. Anyways, we plugged in yet we were warned by the CPTC staff that there would be a persistent “buzz” due to the particular wiring of the PA system. There was – and an annoying buzz it is. We have tried to edit out some of the buzz but it is not an easy process and further degrades quality.
Also, for productions such as this, it is usually prudent to have a sound person continually monitoring mic and music levels. This was not happening so there are “spikes” in volume/static during particularly loud moments, especially on the wireless mics.
As a suggestion for the future an independent PA system should be used with a sound person monitoring levels. This will result in a much cleaner sound for both the audience and the cameras.
Because this is a 2 hour show, we have broken it into clips. Several of the streaming clips are posted below and more will follow as we produce them. Eventually, there will be links to download the clips in a better quality format.
